Ceramic Coating on 26 Outback in Boulder, CO

If you drive around Boulder County for more than five minutes, you'll see why the Subaru Outback is the unofficial vehicle of the Front Range.

I recently had a customer bring in a brand new 2026 Subaru Outback straight from the dealership lot at Faltiorons in Boulder. While these vehicles are built for our mountain lifestyle, their factory clear coats still need serious help to survive the mag chloride, winter grit, and intense UV exposure at altitude. Here is the video... Never coat without polishing first!

Even straight off the lot, new vehicles arrive with issues. Foam cannons and clay bars might look good on camera, but they aren't enough to strip factory glazes and dealership sprays. On this Outback, I had to remove embedded water spots and countless minor scratches before the coating could go on. This is accomplished with a professional Flex buffer. I performed a rigorous single-stage paint correction, going section by section to properly level the clear coat. Skipping this stage is a recipe for early ceramic coating failure.

Once the surface was prepped, I applied a dual-layer ceramic coating using professional-grade Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra (CSU), topped with EXO. I leveled the coating using high-quality 350+ GSM microfiber towels from ProFibers. I also take a few extra steps that make a huge difference: instead of struggling with an applicator pad on the intricate front grill, I spray the coating on to get a perfectly even finish, and I even treat the engine compartment.

This combination bonds directly to the paint, locking in a deep gloss while delivering extreme hydrophobic protection.

With 40 years of experience in paint correction and vehicle restoration, I don't believe in rapid turnaround times or superficial shortcuts. If you're looking to get your vehicle coated in the Boulder area, bring it in, and I'll do the job right.
