The Project

This 2012 Honda Pilot came into the studio with severe oxidation and "yellow haze" that significantly reduced nighttime visibility. Being a 14-year-old vehicle, the factory UV protection had completely failed, leaving the plastic lenses exposed to the intense Colorado sun.

The Process

To ensure a permanent fix rather than a temporary "auto parts store" polish, I followed my professional multi-stage restoration process:

• Correction: Multi-stage machine polishing using FLEX professional buffers to physically level the oxidized surface.

• Refinement: Bringing the plastic back to optical clarity for maximum light output.

• Protection: Sealing the lenses with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra. Unlike DIY kits, this ceramic coating creates a permanent bond to replace the factory UV inhibitors, ensuring these lights stay clear for years.
